We took the big Greek test today and I felt I could have been more prepared but it happens. I kind of forgot that that was today because we didn't have class yesterday. I feel confident on my Allegory of the cave essay. I understand and remembered the answers to most of the questions but some were iffy and I was on the fence for a few answers. Overall, I felt that it was a fair test and it covered all the information we've been studying.

Today, Mr. Schick got a laser pointer. He was so excited about it that he would not stay on one slide for more than 5 seconds. Eventually, he calmed down and we were able to take some notes. After we finished the powerpoint, we spent the rest of the class blogging. It was a pretty easy day. I have a pressing question on my mind. How and when did so many languages originate??? I do not understand how people can come together and form a language that becomes so widespread. It stresses me out just to think about this. There is no real answer.

We watched more of the video today. Some of the answers to the questions we were asking were answered. The answers were too simple. The progress of nation partly depends on geographic luck but that is not the whole answer. Another part of it is animals. We have domesticated many animals to help with work, food, and agriculture. New Guineans only have pigs. Pigs are not very useful when it comes to helping out with land. Other animals in New Guinea are very hard to domesticate. Such as, zebras. Zebras would be ideal, but since they are constantly in a predatory environment, they are violent and skittish. They have a mean streak that would be very difficult to tame.
